CNA is the important and rewarding career in the medical profession but the training and examination is not easy as you think. CNA's are the backbones of the nursing profession. Some people think that after entering the job, passing the exam would be easy. That is not correct. CNA's job is stressful, physically tiring and is not for everyone. The CNA course duration is -12 weeks depending on the amount of study time.

Requirements include minimum Associate's Degree, and a clean criminal record as you would be trusted with the vulnerability of various people of varying ages. A king and caring personality, along with excellent communication skills, and willingness to help others will greatly compliment this career.

The training for Certified Nursing Assistants includes the practical and theoretical training through books and digital media. The objective of this training program is basic human anatomy, body mechanics, activities of daily living, human behavior and nutrition. Manual and mechanical lifting is also a part of the course since working safely is important to patient care.

Patients suffering from serious illnesses like heart problems, kidney failures and malfunctioning of liver need to be given proper emotional support and special diet. Since they are more prone to contracting other diseases as well, they should be well protected from bacterial and virus attacks. Anybody who has a high school diploma and can pass the initial interview can work as a nursing assistant. The job of a nursing assistant is highly demanding but highly paid. The job is well suited for candidates who like to serve the poor and the sick. To be a nursing assistant, you don't have to spend years of training at a university college.

When you appear for your CNA tests, you will be checked for your ability to take care of patients. You should know how to help patients to walk, go to toilet, dress up and eat food. You should also know how to groom your patients. Patients, while they are under treatment in a medical facility, will feel loneliness and the nursing assistant should know how to give emotional support to the patients.
